It's not a very good choice for end users, because it doesn't really compress video that much, and it stores pixel data in a manner that's not particularly convenient for playback.

That said, you might find this codec useful if you're a developer working in image processing. What is MPV?

MPV is a MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 video elemantary stream (no audio). Also called M1V for MPEG-1 video and M2V for MPEG-2 video.

Sometimes you can just rename the files .mpg and play them in Windows Media Player or other DirectShow player. However, if you get errors about not being able to play them, install MPV Decoder.

It install only original decoders video-audio that enables the correct reproduction of video streams coded in DivX (3.xx-4.xx-5.xx) and Xvid (all), moreover audio streams Ac3, Wma (divx audio) and Ogg.
Furthermore added Divx Anti freeze 0.4 and Morgan Stream Switcher 0.97 for solve other reproduction problems.
